Watched replay of Frozen on HBO while waiting for the granddaughters to come back from jalan-jalan. Stunning visuals and engaging story, albeit in the style of 20th-century melodrama, and I have always felt that the musical numbers are in the wrong place--the songs make the narrative stop rather than advance.
To top it all, this is another commercial deconstruction, reinforcing what Walt Disney is notorious for. The feature is nowhere near Hans Christian Andersen's "The Snow Queen", which is all about sexual frigidity, but what can one expect when producers take adult material and sanitize it in the name of entertainment?
