Caught the 2016 TV movie The Boy on HBO. Passably creepy, but, like all 20th-century horror movies, it has:
--screaming
--a man who becomes a love interest and steps in for rescues at the right moment
--a doll that comes to life
--a shower scene
--an attic with an old photo album
--flashbacks in period settings.
As usual, the producer, director, and writer didn't know how to properly end the story and showed a series of different endings in a perplexing and ineffective montage.
