Angelique and J. back from the movie.
Watched Magnolia Blossom, the first episode of The Agatha Christie Hour sent to us by my sister Sylvia from Sydney.
Loved the sets, as usual. Statuary, chinoisserie, desktop props, lamps. Also the gorgeous tuxedos, gowns, jewelry, and long, cigarette holder.
Because this is an old production, there is an imperfect use of chroma key.
I must say, this is an atypical Agatha Christie, maybe because it was based on one of her short stories rather than on a novel. And no detective: no Hercule Poirot, no Jane Marple, no Tommy and Tuppence. The script is written in a very Ibsenian manner, with everything hinging on dialogue and repartee rather than action.
