Last day of the Mid-Autumn Festival.

My year is never complete without mooncakes during this time. They are quite exquisitely made and packaged. So far I've had black mongo, pandan, and red bean. Each cake is chewy like chocolate and, also like chocolate, is most appropriately eaten very slowly, in order for every flavor within to be savored. The cakes contain salted egg yolk and crunchy lotus seeds.

Of course I pretend to be Judge Dee at his dining table whenever I'm eating mooncakes.
